NEWS & NOTES - SJU Men's Basketball

This past summer, we, at Team FOOTPRINTZ, had the opportunity to work with several members of the St. John's University basketball team. Led by Ganon Baker of Ganon Baker Basketball with assistance from Tyler Relph and our program's lead skills instructor -Mark Williams, put the Red Storm teammates through several drills over a 3 week period. Players were challenged on a daily basis in ball handling, footwork, passsing, shooting and basketball IQ development.

With renewed vigor, the program has flourished under new coach Steve Lavin. This "new attitude" coupled with the players' dedication to success has made the storied program "revelant" in the Big East as well as the nation. The Red Storm team, which was ranked as high as 15 in the last ESPN / Coaches Poll, earned a #6 seed in the 2011 NCAA tournament where they were eliminated by the Zags of Gonzaga.

Congratulations to the team for their successes, but also to Dwight Hardy for earning 1st Team ALL - Big East and Justin Burrell, for receiving the conference's "6th Man of the Year".
