July '13 Schedule



Player Development 
Workouts


Beginning July 9th, we are happy to announce our Summer Player Development Workouts for middle / high school / college players. This is a great opportunity for players in the metro NYC area to develop their game in the "OFF SEASON".

We have worked with some of the area's top HS and college players not to mention "Euro"players from all over the world. We consider ourselves one of the top on the court player development company in the country. Our staff consists of a McDonald's All American, Big East Champion, & NAIA All American Nominee and we are very dedicated to GETTING PLAYERS BETTER.

Please find below our schedule and descriptions of each class for the month of July. 

GROUP SESSION I – Grades 3rd – 6th (Monday & Friday @ 5:30pm / Sunday @ 10:30am)
This program is for younger athletes who are interested in developing the “love for the game” while “teaching” the proper techniques of ball handling, passing, shooting (layups) as well as breaking down basketball rules & terms. Sessions include 15-minute ball handling and 45-minute complete skill development.  Learn the proper techniques of ball handing, passing, shooting, defense, rebounding and offensive development and moves.
GROUP SESSION II – Grades 9th-12th (Monday & Friday @ 4:15pm / Sunday @ 3:30pm)
This class will teach all the skills needed to excel at any position as well as challenge each player to perform at the highest level possible. The rigorous training experience will focus on the individual skills and winning habits that playmakers possess. In addition to repetitive shooting, players will be taught break down drills which can lead to more advanced game related drills 
GROUP SESSION III –Grades 6th - 12th  (Tuesday & Thursday @ 5:30pm / Sunday @ 1pm)
This program is for athletes who have developed the “love for the game” where “reinforcement ” of the proper techniques of ball handling, passing, shooting are paramount.  Sessions include BALL HANDLING, PASSING, SHOOTING, DEFENSE, TOOL BOX and IQ where participants will not only be taught how to do each move but more important how and when to apply to them to game situations.

GROUP SESSION IV – Grades 9th - 12th  (Tuesday & Thursday @ 4:15pm / Sunday @ 2:15pm)

This course will teach you what it truly means to be “The GO – TO PLAYER”.  Players will be challenged to communicate effectively with your teammates as well as taught how to attack the lane and finish with contact. This class will teach all the skills needed to excel at any position as well as challenge each player to perform at the highest level possible. Players will also be taught: ball handling, advanced passing techniques, change of direction moves, shooting in transition, & improving foot speed.  Participants will also learn the “floater” off of various angles and situations.  Players will learn the moves that “Pros” have mastered.  Moves such as: “Floaters off of various angles and situations, the “Euro” step, “Rondo” lay up series, and much more which will instantaneously afford players the opportunity to become a more effective and efficient scorer.  


GROUP SESSION V –– Grades 8th - 12th (Wednesday @ 4:15pm / Sunday @ 11:45am)
The GIRLS ONLY session will focus on ball handling drills, shooting drills and game transferable drills that can be used for ALL positions.  All workouts will provide practical application to game situations to allow players to feel comfortable on the court, regardless of the position.
Specific drills will include perimeter shooting, shooting off the dribble, effective penetration and reading the defense as well as conditioning drills.  
GROUP SESSION VI – Grades K-3rd (Monday & Friday @ 5:30pm / Sunday @ 10:30am)
The one hour instructional session combines fundamental skill instruction such as passing, dribbling, shooting, & conditioning with the goal of providing players with a “taste” of the sport of basketball.  Emphasis is on individual skill development and team play in a no-pressure, fun, instructional format.  
GROUP SESSION VII – Grades 9th – PRO Level (Monday & Thursday @ 5:30pm)
This one hour session will aid a player as he/she looks  to increase their sport specific strength, agility and flexibility.  This strength program allows athletes to work longer and harder in developing their skills on the court / field resulting in an increase in acceleration and multi-directional speed.  
*Please Note – Group Session VII is best suited for intermediate to advance players.
GROUP SESSION VIII – Grade 5th – 9th  (Wednesday @ 5:30pm)
This 45 minute session is designed to teach proper dribbling mechanics.  Players will become more confident in one of the most important skills needed for a basketball player.  Players will focus on stationary ballhandling drills as well as breakdown drills that will aid a player as he/she looks  to increase their  dribbling ability
GROUP SESSION VIV – Grade 10th – PRO Level  (Sunday @ 1pm)
Participants will work on advanced stationary ball handling drills, drills on the move and drills to beat your defender off the dribble and score. Through this intense (game relevant) 60 minute session - participants will learn drills and dribble patterns that they can work on throughout the year to help take their ball handling skills to the next level.
THE GUN SHOOTING CLASS – Grades 8th - PRO Level (Wednesday @ 5:30pm & 6:15pm)
The “GUN” Class will allow players to spend 45 minutes (10 minutes of warm up) each session dedicated to shooting the basketball. Shooting has become a lost art in the game of basketball - much of this has to do with the fact that players don't spend time solely focused on shooting and more importantly, shooting game shots. This workout program is built on high repetition in an intense environment. which ultimately will benefit players who are looking to increase their confidence in their shot, as well as their shooting range, speed and accuracy.  
*Please Note - The GUN SHOOTING CLASS is best suited for intermediate to advanced players and limited to ONLY 3 players per session. 
THE VERTIMAX  - Grades 9th- PRO Level - (Wednesday @ 5:30pm & 6:15pm / Sunday @ 3:30pm)
This 45 minute (10 minutes of warm up) training program is ideal for quick development of explosive leg power which can lead to increased speed, jumping ability and overall athleticism which is applicable for all sports.  VertiMax is currently being used by 65% of the NFL, 50% of the NBA, 70% of Division I colleges and hundreds of high schools across the country.  Vertimax is a training system that has proven to be 6X more effective than traditional plyometrics for developing explosive power. 
*Please Note – The VERTIMAX CLASS is best suited for intermediate to advanced players and limited to ONLY 3 players per session.
