CHANGE

Many basketball players (people in general) seek new adventures, however, many do not take the necessary steps to achieve their new goals. It is our belief that, "Change alone is unchanging" as a result, the summer of 2012 marked a new era for Team FOOTPRINTZ - a year round basketball training program.  The goal was simple: Serve as a change agent for those that aspired to become better.  Change, in of itself, can be a daunting task, however, below find a few events from the summer where we helped shape, influenced and created an aura of CHANGE.

Who: NYC Elite Pro Basketball Team
What: Professional Training
When: June 2012
Where: Mt. Vernon, NY

Team FOOTPRINTZ prepared the NY based "semi pro" team to travel to California where they competed in the ultra competitive LA Summer League. Lead by General Manager Mike Harris and Head Coach Rasual Salahuddin the team played well despite being on "the road" for two weeks.

Who: Jimmer Fredette's Basketball Camp "Jimmer Jam"
What: Development Training
When: June 2012
Where: Saratoga, NY

In association with Lee Taft of Sports Speed, LLC and NBA performer Jimmer Fredette, Team FOOTPRINTZ traveled to "Upstate" New York where they joined a hand selected group of coaches to instill fundamentals within the local campers.  The camp consisted of three days of double sessions with approximately 450 campers where basic skills were stressed, however, ultimately the camp's underlying theme centered around development of the person.

"COURAGE + CHARACTER + KINDNESS + RESPECT" = the camp's MANTRA

Who: Rutland City Recreational Basketball Camp
What: Guest Lecturer
When: July 2012
Where: Rutland, VT

As an invited guest of Mike Wood - Head Coach of the Rutland Raiders Head Coach and RCR Camp Director - Team FOOTPRINTZ spoke to the fact that fundamentals serve as the building blocks to a successful basketball career. The interactive "lecture" centered around famous NBA stories but also made reference to the campers' parents and their work ethic which allowed the camp to be a success.
"First master the FUNDAMENTALS" - Larry Bird

Who: Team FOOTPRINTZ Basketball Clinic
What: Development Training
When: August 2012
Where: Rutland, VT

Drawing upon the energy created by the July visit to Rutland, VT - Team FOOTPRINTZ, in association with the Rutland Red Raiders basketball team, sponsored a 1 day basketball clinic that focused solely on fundamental development.  Players went through a grueling 3 hours of teaching and drill work  that focused on building a foundation as opposed to repeating OLD habits.

Who: Taliek Brown FREE Basketball Camp (5 weeks)
What: Development Training
When: August 2012
Where: NYC, NY

Lead by MCDonald's All American and NCAA Champion - Taliek Brown - Team FOOTPRINTZ sponsored it's 2nd Annual FREE Basketball Camp.  The 5 week camp, held in the Lefrak City portion of Queens provided local players an opportunity to witness some of the elite drills used by Taliek Brown as well as other high level players.  Through their additional sponsor (MoneyBall Sportswear, Inc) players were given TShirts as a token of the program's appreciation to their hard work and dedication.

In essense, the summer success of Team FOOTPRINTZ #summerofCHANGE & #teamgetbetter movement was a success.  Many players changed their ways towards the sport and we, at Team FOOTPRINTZ, hiope this change will be a change in the right direction.
P.S. Mark your calendar for upcoming Team FOOTPRINTZ events where the goal is to further advance the #summerofCHANGE movement.  On September 8th and 15th, Team FOOTPRINTZ will host two basketball clinics at Latitude Sports Complex (Methuen, MA).  Followed by the November 10th event at  Rutland's Middle School (67 Library Ave, Rutland, VT) where Team FOOTPRINTZ will partner with the Red Raiders of Rutland HS and raise awareness to the #teamgetbetter movement.

#TEAMGETBETTER
