On April 21st, Team FOOTPRINTZ, a year-round basketball training program, hosted a FREE BASKETBALL Clinic for 9-16 aged NYC basketball players. The premise of the FREE clinic was to provide area kids the opportunity to experience high level workouts and skills training. All participants went through multiple stations which included ball-handling, conditioning, passing, and shooting. Furthermore, the event, which featured Todd and Lance Feurtado of the KING of KINGS Foundation, brought attention to the recent increase of violent behavior that has plagued our nation. The recent deaths of Darryl Adams (South Jamaica, NY), Kenneth Chamberlain (White Plains, NY) and Trayvon Martin (Florida), whose death galvanized the nation, are examples of violence that could have been avoided.

The response from the event has been great within the southeast portion of Queens, according to many parents. "Man, this is a great event...We have to bring this uptown". "So happy someone in Jamaica (Queens), is doing something for our kids...have to give them something to do". According to Executive Director, Mark Williams "Our goal is simple, increase the skill level of our kids, but help them see there are other options. That's it, nothing more nothing else".
