Team FOOTPRINTZ + 2012 = #TEAMCHANGE

In order to move forward, we must first reflect on the past. December 31st at 11:59:59pm, marked an end to the 2011 CHAPTER in the "Book of Life". A year in which we experienced a "recession", political discord, "natural" disasters, $en$e-le$$ war$, death, divorce, blah, blah, & blah. Despite, ALL the negative images of the year - each day marked an opportunity to CHANGE and change, as a whole, is the ONLY constant.

Recently, we, at Team FOOTPRINTZ, accepted the notion of change by adding the word to our 2012 mantra. Currently, we "belong" to #teambedifferent & #teamgetbetter, however on January 1, 2012 - we joined the #teamchange movement. To jump start our #teamchange affiliation, on December 28, 2011 we offered, through a FREE Basketball Clinic, area players an opportunity increase their on court skill level. The event, which also served as an introduction to Point 3 Basketball Apparel Company, drew players & parents from the Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island areas of New York. Approximately, 75 players joined the Team FOOTPRINTZ staff in basic on the court skill training, but importantly, the staff stressed to the participants to GIVE BACK to their community.

It is WELL documented that basketball skill development is at a low point right now. Coaches, teams of ALL levels, General Managers and Owners are favoring players who are long & athletic, but lack skill sets that translate into longevity. It is equally documented that children are more apt to become successful if they are surrounded by positive role models. Armed with a purpose and spearheaded by Tony Robbins quote "By changing nothing, nothing changes" - the staff of Team FOOTPRINTZ goal for 2012 is to become an agent of CHANGE for today's youth/adolescent/adult populations.

"As a basketball skill instructor, I see simple skills becoming very difficult - furthermore I see very little opportunities for our youth! On top of that, I see very few "successful" people coming back to the area that helped create them. As a High School teacher in an urban environment, I have been lucky to see a few celebrities come back (once a year), but successful "regular" people are too busy to devote a large portion of their day (night) to the community, as a whole. I understand this fact, but we will try to CHANGE that. So, our goal was to press upon the youth to GIVE BACK whether it's time, product or money. For every bit helps, because, ultimately, as the adage says 'a candle loses NOTHING by lighting another'" says Team FOOTPRINTZ' Executive Director Mark Williams.
