Two members of the Team FOOTPRINTZ’ basketball team were featured on Eurobasket.com’s website. Robert Hines and Jeff McMillan.

“I’m proud of Rob and Jeff for their success in Portugal, thus far. I hope their play leads them to live their dream of playing in the NBA, but if not, I can only wish them to become fixtures on the European scene and use their educational experiences to become successes – in the real world. ” says Team FOOTPRINTZ Executive Director – Mark A. Williams.

Interview with Robert Hines, Proliga MVP so far - Nov 5, 2008 (by Bruno Baltazar)

In his senior year in college in USA for St.Francis,NY (NCAA) last season in 28 games you averaged 15.2ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.2apg, 1.0spg, right now in your first professional season you been doing with Angra Basket ,in 6 games you averaging 32ppg ,8.7rpg, 2.3spg,2.8apg,0.2bpg and you the Proliga MVP so far.

Bruno Baltazar-How do you see these numbers? Did you expected to create such a great impact as a professional?

Robert Hines (196-F, college: St.Francis,NY)-Well i'm just really playing basketball and doing what ever it takes for my team to have a chance to win. When I first got here I didn't think I would be able to score the way I do but my coaches believe in me and they put the ball in my hands and told me to go make it happen.

Bruno Baltazar-In your view what is the biggest difference between playing In NCAA and play professionally in Portugal?

Robert Hines-I think in college it's just more of a fast pace game and that's how my college coaches expected me to play by just pushing the ball and playing at a fast pace no matter if the other team scores or not.

Bruno Baltazar-What you think of the league format and the teams level in here?

Robert Hines-I think the league is good, we get to play in our 2nd league and we also play against 1st league teams as well so it just gives me a chance to show people in our league what we can really do but the only thing that I was disappointed about was that we only play once a week but i'm used to it now.

Bruno Baltazar-Do you like the country? You would like to play here next season again and you would like more to play in a continent team rather then playing in a team in an island such as Angra is in an island?

Robert Hines-I think the country is a great place, the food is good and the people are great so I think I fit right in. I don't think I will be here next year but if I do I think would come back to Angra Basket because they have done so much for me and just made me feel right at home but the only thing about this island is there's no mall or anything like that for me to enjoy myself but I have found other things to stay busy.

Bruno Baltazar-Do you like Angra, the teamates, the conditions and the team?Robert Hines-I love Angra because they gave me a chance to showcase my talents and my teammates are great they really make me feel at home as if I was in college again, but Angra really go out there way to make sure i'm ok and that i'm ready to work.Bruno Baltazar-What are your personal goals and team goals for this season?

Robert Hines-My personal goal is to win a Championship and lead my team while I do it I will always have dreams of playing the NBA but I feel like that god is taken me level by level to show me that nothing is easy but for right now Angra Basket is looking for a Championship and i'm gonna try my best to lead us there.

McMillan new center for Ovarense - Nov 19, 2008 (by Luis Rocha)

Ovarense decided to go to the market and sign center Jeff McMillan (203-F-80, college: USC). McMillan is a very strong inside player, who covered a lot of ground when it comes to play abroad. He can rebound, he can scored points playing back to the board, is a tough defender, it seems that Ovarense has found a nice player to even things up with the other contenders to the championship.
