11 things I wish I’d learned sooner as a college hooper

Recently, our Mark Williams spoke to Andra Espinoza-Hunter about the pitfalls that might present itself for upcoming college student-athletes.

Find below Andra's 11 things she wished she had learned sooner as a college hooper.

---------------

Those “dumb” off the court rules coaches impose aren’t actually dumb. Be sure to follow each and every one. FOR REAL!

Defense [really] matters.

Talking and Competing each possession and every drill will get on the court faster than you think.

Reps at non game speed is equivalent to not even getting reps

[As always] books matter but be sure to utilize the academic support staff to their fullest.

Eat healthy with a very few cheat days trust me your body will thank you!

QUALITY > quantity when it comes to reps.

Staying in shape is less painful than getting in shape.

Your teammates don’t have to be your best friendsbut you do NEED to be a good teammate.

Visit the academic career center even as a freshman year. Do not wait until your senior year!

DO NOT follow those that “got a way” with skipping a rep, not touching the line, going to class late or any rule set by the coaching staff.
