MONEY TRAIN defeats Team FOOTPRINTZ

As we approach the summer months and the temperature heats up, so has the action of Fireball @ Baruch College.

This past weekend Team FOOTPRINTZ facing Money Train for an early season battle for 1st place supremacy enlisted Ryan Gomes of the Minnesota Timberwolves (22points and 9 rebounds) who joined Coleman Collins (17 points and 10 rebounds)of the NBA's D-League and Mark McCarroll (8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots) formerly of the University of Pittsburgh to form one of the best front courts ever to grace Fireball's courts.

Money Train, meanwhile, featured Mike Glover -who attended Seton Hall University and his older brother Anthony Glover who graduated from St.John's University as well as Sharif Fordham, who like Anthony Glover attended St.John's University and street ball veteran Jerome 'Circus' Holman.

The contest began with Money Train jumping out to a early lead. Behind the aggressive play of Mike Glover and timely baskets by their role players-Money Train kept Mark Williams' Team FOOTPRINTZ team at "arms length".

Luckily for Team FOOTPRINTZ the 2nd half began with an offensive surge. Led by Sheiku Kabba's (18 points and 6 assists) play from the guard position, Team FOOTPRINTZ rally created a the excitement the league yearned. "It was a highly intense game. Both teams came to play and Rick Rivers (league's Commissioner) has to be happy with the level of talent on the court!. I am upset we were on the losing side of the game, but I am pleased with our effort (for the most part). I thought we settled for too many jump shots and really didn't put any pressure on them defensively, whereas they were in attack mode from the beginning and that allowed them to get easy points from the foul line", says Team FOOTPRINTZ' coach Mark Williams.

In addition, to the above mentioned players - Team FOOTPRINTZ featured Marlon Smith (Cyprus / Turkey) , Rob Hines (Portugal / Spain), and Anali Okoloji - who, as a high school senior, is being recruited by NC State, TCU,and Depaul University.

Team FOOTPRINTZ looks to rebound this Saturday (May 30th) against Queens bridge, who, - with Ron Artest, is the 2008 Nike Pro/Am @ Hunter College Champion. The game is scheduled for 4:45pm @ Baruch College located on 24th and Lexington Ave.

Come out and witness Team FOOTPRINTZ firsthand.
